Reception of the Delegation from Ithaca High School, New York, USA

On April 17, 2025, Can Tho University Elite High School was honored to welcome four teachers and twenty students from Ithaca High School (New York, USA) for an academic, cultural, and sports exchange. This marks the second time that teachers and students from Ithaca High School have visited Can Tho University Elite High School for such an event.

The delegation was received by Ms. Huỳnh Thị Thúy Diễm, Vice Principal of the school, along with four English language teachers, three Youth Union coordinators, and twenty-six students from Can Tho University Elite High School.

The exchange program took place from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and featured a variety of traditional Vietnamese folk games and academic activities designed to foster connection and cross-cultural understanding. Highlights included American English pronunciation workshops and discussions on native language usage. The school's English Club, "Say Hi," delivered captivating performances showcasing Vietnamese culture—such as the introduction of major national holidays, traditional folk dances, and a reenactment of the “Cô Đôi Thượng Ngàn” ritual.

In addition to cultural exchanges, students from both schools took part in volleyball and basketball games on campus. The school also hosted a meal featuring traditional Vietnamese cuisine, allowing guests to experience the richness of local food culture.

This visit left a deep and lasting impression on both students and teachers. It provided American students with valuable insights into the Vietnamese high school environment, while also giving students from Can Tho University Elite High School the opportunity to practice English communication, learn about American culture and education, and better prepare themselves for future study abroad pathways after graduation.
