In accordance with Plan No. 107 of Can Tho University Elite High School, on October 11, 2025, the school organized a professional training workshop for its staff and teachers under the theme “Enhancing Digital Competence and the Application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in General Education.” The session was led by Dr. Nguyen Thi Thu Trang, Director of the STEM Education Center, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education.

The workshop aimed to define a strategic goal of strengthening teachers’ professional capacity to meet the urgent demands of digital transformation and effectively implement the 2018 General Education Curriculum. Its core objective was to equip participants with updated knowledge and skills in line with current educational resolutions, while simultaneously enhancing digital literacy—particularly the ability to integrate AI applications into teaching practices and STEM-based projects.

The training program focused on two key pillars. The first pillar was the standardization of teachers’ digital competencies, based on both international and national reference frameworks (UNESCO, EU, and the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam). This included mastering skills in managing digital classrooms, using Learning Management Systems (LMS), and effectively utilizing digital learning resources.

The second pillar centered on advanced AI applications in pedagogical practices. AI was introduced as a powerful tool to support lesson planning, instructional design, question generation, grading, and learning data analysis—thereby improving the quality of assessment and competency evaluation. The program placed particular emphasis on integrating AI into STEM education, guiding teachers in designing technology-driven projects involving robotics, the Internet of Things (IoT), and data analytics. These activities aim to foster students’ creativity, innovation, and problem-solving abilities in real-world contexts.

Through this initiative, Can Tho University Elite High School expects its teachers to develop innovative mindsets, master AI-based tools, and design educational activities that effectively integrate digital technologies and AI. This effort contributes to the broader goal of renewing teaching methodologies toward competence- and character-based education.
Supported directly by Can Tho University in both facilities and human resources, Can Tho University Elite High School is among the few institutions in Can Tho City receiving significant investment in STEM education. The school strives to provide students with advanced scientific and technological knowledge, enhance their digital competence, and contribute to the training of high-quality human resources for Can Tho City and the Mekong Delta region as a whole.
