GRATITUDE & COMING-OF-AGE CEREMONY FOR THE 11TH COHORT

Written by: Admin

Each year, when the cicadas begin to sing and the flamboyant flowers blaze under the radiant early summer sun, it signals the time when graduating students prepare to bid farewell to their beloved school—a place that holds countless cherished memories of their youth.

Six homeroom teachers were honored with flowers from their students

Just like many generations before them, the 11th cohort of Can Tho University Elite High School finds themselves overwhelmed with emotion during their Gratitude & Coming-of-Age Ceremony. After today, they will once again devote themselves to their studies in preparation for the most important milestone of their school life—the 2025 National High School Graduation Examination. Once the exam is over, they will officially become alumni of Can Tho University Elite High School.

One day, we may find ourselves longing, even just once, to relive the moments when our hearts pounded as we were asked by the supervisor to sign a report for parking in the wrong spot or riding a motorbike beyond the permitted engine capacity; being written into the red-flag book for arriving late or not wearing a name badge; or arriving ten minutes after the bell and requesting to be excused for the entire period to avoid being marked late. No longer will homeroom teachers reluctantly act as “doctors” dealing with a flood of post-exam ailments.

The students humbly bowed to honor and thank their teachers

Today, May 27, 2025, at the Turtle Hall of Can Tho University, marks a memorable milestone for these students. From this moment on, they are officially recognized by their families and society as mature citizens, standing at the threshold of a promising future. The gates of higher education await them with open arms—welcoming their confident steps, their passionate spirit, and their vibrant energy as members of Generation Z who live positively and embrace change.

Students humbly bowed in heartfelt appreciation to their parents

Though three years of high school may not seem long, it is enough to form deep, sweet, and lasting memories. It is enough to create a wellspring of nostalgia each time they reflect on the days of carrying books to school. They will always remember the rows of old flamboyant trees, the stone benches, the practice garden, the blackboard and white chalk, and even the eager sound of the bell that marked the end of the second period. More than anything, they will remember the devoted teachers who quietly and diligently continued to guide and prepare students for the journey ahead.

For the past three years, parents have walked alongside the school, standing quietly behind their children—offering comfort and encouragement through every exam, every disappointing grade, every lapse in school rules, and even the stumbles of young love. Today, these students have matured. They are strong, ready to rise, and move forward with determination, knowing that their parents will always be there, offering unwavering support.
