VIBRANT VIETNAM–U.S. CULTURAL EXCHANGE AT CAN THO UNIVERSITY ELITE HIGH SCHOOL
On April 3, 2026, Can Tho University Elite High School warmly welcomed a delegation of teachers and students from Ithaca High School (New York, USA) as part of its annual cultural exchange program. This marks the third consecutive year the two schools have organized this meaningful activity, strengthening friendship and expanding international integration opportunities for students.

The welcoming ceremony was held in a formal yet warm atmosphere with the presence of Ms. Huynh Thi Thuy Diem – Vice Principal, Ms. Phan Kim Huong – Head of the Social Sciences Department, Mr. Duong Nguyen Thanh Luan – English teacher, and Mr. Nguyen Van Kham – History teacher.
According to the program, at 8:30 a.m., the U.S. delegation of 22 teachers and students arrived at the school to participate in morning outdoor activities. At 8:55 a.m., two American students were assigned to each Grade 10 and Grade 11 class to attend lessons. During these sessions, students of Can Tho University Elite High School actively provided interpretation support, helping their American peers better understand the lessons while creating opportunities for real-life English communication.

In the afternoon, starting from 1:30 p.m., the cultural and artistic exchange program took place energetically across the school campus, featuring a variety of engaging activities such as tug of war, modern dance, group performances, volleyball, badminton, and basketball. Traditional games and sports not only created a lively atmosphere but also helped students from both countries bond and gain deeper insights into each other’s cultures and team spirit.
The meaningful day concluded with a friendly vegetarian meal shared by teachers and students from both schools. Smiles, handshakes, and heartfelt conversations opened up promising prospects for future cooperation.

This exchange brought significant practical value. Students of Can Tho University Elite High School gained deeper insights into American culture and education while enhancing their English communication skills with native speakers. Meanwhile, American students had the opportunity to explore Vietnamese culture, language, and the educational environment in Vietnam in general, as well as the unique characteristics of the school.
With a strong commitment to international integration, the school welcomes more than 10 international delegations annually for exchanges and internships, while also organizing 2–3 student exchange trips abroad each year. These activities not only broaden students’ horizons but also provide a solid foundation for their future academic and study-abroad journeys.
The exchange program with Ithaca High School once again affirms the position of Can Tho University Elite High School in building a dynamic, modern, and globally integrated educational environment.
